Day 1 (for humans only)
This will be a mix of theory / practical and observation.
You will experience having a behavior that you have learned put on cue, to help you to understand how
your dog processes this information.
You will observe a dog learn a new behavior and begin to have it put on cue.
We will discuss how this learning is taking place.
We will discuss what makes a behavior fluent.
We will put a previously shaped behavior on cue and begin to get it under stimulus control.
We will examine the importance of this in all our sporting venues.
Getting the behaviors that we want is just the first part of the process.
Many trainers stop at getting their pups to offer a wide range of behaviors, but never truly get them fluently
on cue and under stimulus control.
Once our dogs have grasped how to learn a behavior and how to understand the concept that the handler’s
cue is important to them, teaching sport related behaviors is easy. However, the general concept needs to
be understood first.
THIS WORKSHOP IS ALSO FILLING FAST.
IF ENOUGH INTEREST I WILL REPEAT IT IN THE AFTERNOONS FROM 2 – 5.00 P.M. (BOTH DAYS)
