Canine and Human Conditioning Workshop: Fit to Train
June 23 @ 9:00 am - 12:45 pm
SAVE THE DATE for our upcoming Canine and Human conditioning workshop Fit to Train with Lynne Pollard Stephens and Rebekka Schulze!
Keeping ourselves and our canine partners fit is an essential part of any training regime. To help you in that endeavor, and to give you a little fun along the way, we have arranged a special “Fit to Train” workshop day for both you and your dog.
A strong core is the foundation of any fitness program and will be our main focus for the day.
For the canine portion of the day, we will be looking at how to train some simple exercises designed to help your dog to develop a strong core. The exercises, designed by a qualified human and canine Physical Therapist Kathy Currlin CCCRP, will require no special equipment and can easily be fitted into your daily routine. They have been taken from our popular and previously presented, full day seminar, “An Ounce of Prevention.” It is important to note that the exercises are for conditioning only and not meant as part of a rehabilitation program. If your dog is currently recovering from injury you should consult a rehabilitation practitioner to design an individualized program to fit your dog’s needs.
For the human portion of the day, we are privileged to present Ms. Rebekka Schulze of Pilates & Horses. Rebekka is a fully qualified Pilates instructor, horsewoman and avid agility trainer. She has specially adapted some fun exercises to help those of us who are not quite at the top of our fitness game, to improve our skills so that we can be our best selves for our canine partners.
Come along and give it a try. We promise there’ll be no crawling on the dirt floor required!
