We are thrilled to introduce this month’s DogLogic Training Team of the Month, Connie May and her English Shepherd dog, Ben. We hope you enjoy reading their inspiring story.
(PS – We didn’t pay Connie for her lovely compliments, but thank you Connie. It is always a joy to work with all of our students!)
Connie May shares:
“I didn’t grow up with dogs. When I got a puppy, I took him to puppy class and never stopped classes. My first agility dog was easy to train and we enjoyed participating in Agility, Rally, Obedience, and Herding. We traveled the east coast for trials.
Then along came Ben. I thought he would be the perfect agility dog, fast, agile and eager. He breezed through Novice and Open and then we hit the wall. The harder we worked, the more our relationship suffered. His confidence and mine were gone. It seemed we would never learn to be a team.
We visited an agility class at DogLogic and we found a new start. Ben had lots of issues and we attended a variety of classes with Karen and Lynne. Control Unleashed helped immensely with arousal. Rally helped with my reinforcement techniques and foundation skills. Agility helped both of us build skills and confidence and helped repair our trust in each other.
We are forever grateful to Lynne and Karen. Their patience, knowledge, and excellent instruction helped put the wind back in our sails.”
We’re still looking for more volunteers to be our “DogLogic Training Team of the Month”. Don’t be shy. Everyone has their own story to tell – whether you are just at the beginning or have been with us for a while. Your friends would love to hear they are not alone!
We have a few questions that we can send to get you started, so no need to worry about writer’s block! Contact Lynne today, we’d love to feature you in a future newsletter.
